Is it ethical to use AI-generated or altered images to report on human suffering?

At Ithaca College, my peers and I created a documentary exploring the ethics of AI-generated imagery in reporting human suffering. We investigated a case where an AI-altered image by Meysam Azarneshin appeared in a UN document without disclosure. Interviewing experts like Dario Veréb and Matthew Abbott, we analyzed similar projects to assess AI's impact on journalistic integrity.
